➤ Why does demand shift left?
Demand shifts left when non-price determinants reduce willingness to buy. Common causes include falling income for normal goods, shifts in preferences away from the product, higher prices for complements, cheaper substitutes, negative expectations about future income or quality, population decline, or adverse regulation and taxes.
